I had an enjoyable and yummy experience eating dinner at the bar. The bartenders are informative and entertaining....just being themselves. I'll definitely return.

We were visiting from out of town and happened to scooter by this place. It was Sunday at 9:00pm and the line and crowd was huge so we had to try it. Seems like there is always probably going to be a wait (with good reason) but there is a cute little park across the way so we walked and sat on benches and passed the time. The pizza is award winning! It rated #6 in ITALY and they know pizza. We had a chopped salad and the Cal Italia pizza. Nothing was left on our plates! We each ate a half a pizza and it was the best! The service was great and the other patrons were all super friendly and everyone was really just raving about their food choices. Can't go wrong with this place, just allow some wait time and don't be in a rush.

I always wanted to try a slice of Tony's pizza. Walking around North Beach, I said, "Why not?" The place was packed around 1 p.m., so it's good that they had a place for a single slice to go. The guys working at this place were friendly. I would love to eat at this place because it seems like such a happening place for lunch with a great ambiance. I bought my slice and enjoyed it in my office.

This was a very popular restaurant. There's the dine in portion and then on the side the grab and go slices. Also, we ordered 4 slices and they stack the slices directly on top of each other separated by parchment paper but a lot of the toppings came off when peeling this off, so I think they need to come up with a better way of doing this. They had unique flavors and their slices were quite large (but on the medium to thin side). It tasted great but the only thing I wish the slices had less of was grease (particularly the slices with meat). I had to blot a lot of it off with a napkin but it was still tasty. Their Margherita was the most dissatisfying unfortunately, the mozzarella cheese was hard and very chewy and not like what it is usually supposed to be. I ended up taking the mozzarella off and just eating the sauce on the slice. Apart from that their crust was good and all other slices tasted very delicious. Their staff was very attentive and helpful too when deciding on what slices to try. I recommend this place if you're looking for a hearty slice of pizza when venturing SF!

Update: Back again to try new pizzas! We came on a Wednesday at around 12:30 and there was no wait! We were even given a choice to sit inside or outside. I opted to sit inside because the last time we sat outside, we were at a slant due to the slight hill. We were afraid our pizzas were going to slide off the rack and fall! A bit unsettling while you're eating! So this time, we were on a flat surface without worrying. ***OUR PICKS*** CAL ITALIA ~ Asiago, mozzarella, Italian Gorgonzola, Croatian sweet fig preserves, prosciutto di Parma, Parmigiano, balsamic glaze, no sauce. This one is a bit sweet, yet savory. We enjoyed the thick, crunchy crust! 5/5 GOTHAM ~ sliced mozzarella, hand crushed tomatoes, thick & thin cup and char pepperoni, roasted peppers, Italian sausage, smoked applewood bacon, agave garlic, basil. This is all savory with so much pepperoni! If you love pepperoni, you'll love this one! Me, I like it and felt it was a bit much for me. BF loved this! Crispy, crunchy crust 4.5/5 Service was friendly and upbeat. We even caught our server, Teresa Marie from one of our memorable dinners and she remembered us too! We really enjoyed our pizzas today. Everything was perfect!

Amazing food! As someone with a gluten allergy, their GF thick crust and thin crust is the best I've ever. Plan ahead make your reservation in advance. Wait is worth it!

Tony's is legit worth the hype. I was directed here over and over again by tourists and locals alike. The sister and I crushed a pepperoni pizza and the Detroit style garlic bread - and then almost came back for dinner after seeing the pesto rigatoni dish arrive at the table text to us. All in all - I would call our meal at Tony's our favorite/the best during our four day stay. The Fisherman's Wharf is expensive and overrated - so head inland (take the cable car) and hit up Tony's! You won't regret it.
